Adafruit Feather M0 Bluefruit LE Board

The Adafruit Feather M0 Bluefruit has all the basic features shared by all the Feather M0 range together with a built-in Bluetooth Low Energy module (BLE). The module used is the Bluefruit LE and includes two status indicator LEDs.

The module has an nRF51822 chipset from Nordic Semiconductor, programmed with multi function code that opens up a huge range of options. There is the standard UART receive/transmit profile or use the AT command set and have full control over your device.

Using the Bluefruit iOS App / Android App, you can quickly get your project prototyped. Within the app, there is a colour picker, 8 button game pad, accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer or location (GPS) data. Any or all this data can be read over BLE and piped into the ATSAMD21G18 ARM Cortex M0 chip for use in your project.

Some project ideas include an HID Keyboard, a BLE Heart Rate Monitor or a UriBeacon, the Google standard for Bluetooth LE beacons.

The module also includes built-in over-the-air updating capability so you always have the latest firmware. Use any Android or iOS device to get updates and install them. This will update the native code on the BLE module, to add new wireless capabilities, although cannot be used to program the ARM Cortex M0 chip.

Adafruit Feather M0 Development Boards

The Feather M0 is a range of development board from Adafruit. They are powered by the Atmel ATSAMD21G18 ARM Cortex M0 processor clocked at 48 MHz with 3.3 V logic. This board features the same chip as is in the Arduino Zero (RS 883-7383). It has 256K of flash (8x more than the Feather 32u4 range) and 32K of RAM (16x). The Feather M0 is designed for low power, portable projects.

There is a dedicated connector for 3.7 V Lithium batteries. The built-in battery charging circuit enables you can use to measure and monitor battery levels. Battery and USB cable not included.

This chip has built-in USB so it has USB-to-serial programming & debug capability so no need for an FTDI-like chip.

Supplied fully assembled and tested, with a USB bootloader that lets you quickly use it with the Arduino IDE.
