Microchip DM160225 3DTouchPad with Gesture Control

The DM160225 3DTouchPad from Microchip is a USB plug and play PC peripheral 3D touch pad that combines multi-touch capability with touchless 3D hand gesture control in the free space above the device. Intuitive flicks, swipes, position tracking and circular motions in the air above the pad are processed in real time. Being driverless it will work strait out the box (Windows 7 and 8).

3D interaction is achieved through the use of Microchip’s patented GestIC® 3D gesture technology, multi-touch control is sensed by PCAP/PCT - projected capacitive touch technology.

The device is also designed to be a comprehensive development platform. Designers can add 2D and 3D gesture control to applications, games and software using the fully documented software development kit (SDK) and application programming interface (API) available to download from the Microchip website.
