RS PRO Cat7 S/FTP Cable

Category 7 or Cat 7 cable for short is the 7th generation of cabling used for the infrastructure of Gigabit Ethernet, smart homes, data centres and large enterprise networks.

Cat6 and Cat7 both have the same speed, but the major difference is the Cat 7 cable has a higher frequency and is therefore able to transfer data at a much faster rate than Cat 6 cable.

Cat 7 Ethernet cable has four pairs of twisted copper wires, with a shielding on each pair and an overall shield covering the entire cable, this extensive shielding is to reduce any interference from both crosstalk and system noise.

These RS PRO Cat7 S/FTP cables are screened, foiled twisted pairs, the shielded twisted pair construction is beneficial in high speed networks that are Ethernet based.

This RS PRO Cat 7 cable is Low Smoke Zero Halogen, commonly termed as LSZH or LSOH cables are used where smoke emission and toxic fumes could cause harm to human health, as well as to essential equipment in the event of a fire. LSZH cables have an outer sheath material which produce lower levels of smoke and toxic fumes, and no acid gases. These are particularly beneficial to personnel exiting safely during a fire, as well as increasing the safety of the firefighting operation.
