The Seeed studio single-channel, grove water sensor kit is designed to detect the presence of water using exposed PCB traces. It is made of interlaced traces of ground and sensor signals. These traces are lightly pulled by 1Mohm resistor. It pulls the sensor trace value high till the drop of water shorts the sensor trace to the ground trace.
