The TEMD7100 series, from Vishay Semiconductors, is a family of PIN photodiodes. They are in compact surface mount (SMD) packages with a daylight filter which blocks out ambient visible light. The TEMD7100 packages contain chip with a 0.23mm² sensitive area. Suitable applications for the TEMD7100 PIN photodiodes include; photodetectors, IR remote control, IR data transmissions, photointerrupters and shaft encoders.
